Plastic Spill Pallets

(77 Article)

Water-polluting substances or aggressive materials, such as acids and alkalis, are stored on a plastic (PE) spill pallet. All DENIOS PE spill pallets are available in versions for drums, IBCs, small containers or Euro pallets. In addition, spill pallets can be equipped with a plastic grid, a galvanised grid or a plastic pallet. A wide range of containment volumes is offered from smaller quantities, such as 200 litres, to large quantities, such as 1,000 litres. To enable the storage area to be moved, some spill pallets can be accessed underneath or are on wheels. DENIOS offers polyethylene spill pallets that have been tested and approved by DIBt (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik).

Plastic spill pallets from DENIOS

Spill pallets made of plastic, especially polyethylene (PE), are ideal for storing and handling potentially hazardous media. They offer reliable protection for the environment and health. They are particularly suitable for water-polluting substances such as oils, lubricants, fuels and solvents. PE spill pallets are also resistant to aggressive chemicals, including acids and alkalis. They also ensure safe storage and transport when disposing of hazardous waste, such as contaminated cleaning materials and chemical residues.

The right plastic spill pallet

The extensive range of plastic spill pallets offers sizes for storing up to ten 200-litre drums or three 1000-litre IBCs. Choose between different storage surfaces for your PE spill pallet that are best suited to your storage purpose: Grids made of plastic or galvanised steel, support domes for IBCs or pallets, shelves or storage trestles made of plastic. Grids are also available separately in the online shop. Or completely without grating for placing the containers directly in the plastic tray.

Depending on the design, the plastic spill pallets differ in the base-line, classic-line or pro-line levels. This differentiation means that the ideal plastic sumps can be found for every requirement.

Principles of storage on plastic spill pallets

Whenever you have to deal with hazardous materials in your company, the Water Resources Act (WRA) prescribes careful handling of these media. Hazardous materials are all media that can affect the properties of water, such as oils, chemicals, acids and alkalis.

In order to store these water-polluting substances properly and to protect our environment, a provision of the WRA states that drums, IBCs and small containers containing these liquids must be stored on a suitable spill pallet. A spill pallet prevents the contents of the containers from leaking onto the ground or even into the groundwater. To prevent this, trays must be able to collect between 10 and 100 % of the stored medium.

Depending on the container to be stored, you will find spill pallets of different sizes for different media in our range. If you want to store canisters or safety cans, take a look at our small spill trays made of steel, plastic or stainless steel .

If you want to protect large areas from hazardous materials, we have surface protection systems in the form of spillage decking in the DENIOS range.

What are the advantages of a plastic spill pallet?

  • Non-corrosive
  • Storage of various acids and alkalis
  • Storage of oils
  • Storage of non-flammable cleaning chemicals
  • Tested and approved by the DIBt (German Institute for Building Technology)
  • Available as a floor tray, with access underneath or as a mobile version with castors
  • Available in a dissipative version
  • Flexible: easy storage and retrieval of drums on pallets possible
  • Extremely robust

Which media are plastic spill pallets suitable for?

Plastic spill pallets are ideal for storing water-polluting substances and aggressive substances such as acids and alkalis. For example, they are suitable for:

  • Formic acid
  • Boric acid
  • Chloroacetic acid
  • Heating oil
  • Potassium chloride
  • Antifreeze
  • Phosphoric acid
  • Hydrochloric acid

You can find a detailed resistance list in our guide ‘4 steps to the right spill pallet’.

Where are plastic spill pallets used?

Spill pallets made of polyethylene (PE) are essential for the safe handling of water-polluting and aggressive substances such as acids and alkalis. They prevent environmental damage and ensure safety in the workplace.

Different quantities of chemicals are stored in laboratories . PE spill pallets offer a safe and chemically resistant solution for storing acids, alkalis and other reactive substances. Their advantages lie in their resistance to chemical attack, easy cleaning and space-saving design.

In industrial plants, large quantities of liquids are stored in drums and IBC containers . Here, PE spill pallets offer a robust solution for safe storage. They are characterised by their high load-bearing capacity, various size options and reliable protection against leaks.

Logistics centres often use Euro pallets to move and store materials. PE spill pallets are designed to fit perfectly on Euro pallets, facilitating the safe transport and storage of hazardous materials. They are compatible with standard Euro pallets, can be easily integrated into existing processes and offer additional safety.

Mobile PE spill pallets are ideal for flexible applications. These trays can be easily moved to be used in different locations. Their mobility, versatility and ease of use make them a practical solution for changing requirements.

Overall, PE spill pallets offer reliable protection for water-polluting and aggressive materials in laboratories, industrial plants and logistics centres. Their chemical resistance and robust construction are certified by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt).
