DENIOS spill pallets, containment bunds, sumps and spill trays are the products of choice for the legally compliant storage of water-polluting substances of all classifications. A wide range of collection volumes is available, from small quantities, such as 5 litres, to large quantities, such as 1,000 litres.
Grids made of plastic, galvanised steel and stainless steel are also available as an option. In the interests of mobility and flexibility, almost all collection trays can be driven under with pallet trucks and forklift trucks or are available on wheels.
DENIOS spill pallets offer protection for storing hazardous substances in accordance with HSE legislation.

If handling hazardous materials is part of everyday life in your company, you usually not only have to handle these hazardous materials, but also store them. This must be done in compliance with current legislation. As a rule, anything from an aerosol can to a 1,000 litre IBC can be filled with hazardous materials. Some examples are
Oils
Release agents
Cleaners
Paints
Varnishes
Many other hazardous materials
All of these substances can be hazardous to water, flammable, aggressive or otherwise dangerous. We should therefore do everything we can to ensure that our environment is safe. A spill pallet is a first precautionary measure to achieve just that. Containers with potentially hazardous contents must be stored on a spill pallet.
TRGS 510 stipulates that there must be a ‘containment area’ when storing, transferring or handling substances hazardous to water, such as oils, paints or various chemicals. This is designed to contain leaking liquids and thus keep them away from the outside world. A spill pallet is a technical variant for providing precisely this retention volume. With our hazardous substance sumps, you can protect our environment and store environmentally hazardous media in compliance with the law.
The StawaR is an established technical building regulation. As such, it is part of the building regulations list of the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt). Among other things, the Steel Sump Directive stipulates that steel spill pallets must be liquid-tight, resistant to the stored substance and protected against corrosion . A steel spill pallet must have a minimum wall thickness of 3 mm; 2 mm is sufficient for stainless steel spill pallets. Welded constructions must also have a welding certificate. Production must therefore be guaranteed by certified personnel. In addition, the StawaR requires proof of the statics (hydrostatic pressure).
DIBt stands for the German Institute for Building Technology, which is based in Berlin. DIBt issues approvals for construction projects, in particular for construction projects for which there are no DIN standards. The best-known certificate is the general building approval, which many of our DENIOS products also carry.
The European Technical Assessment(ETA) is used for Europe-wide approval . Construction projects with ETA certification can be sold throughout the European Economic Area, Turkey and Switzerland.
Legislation requires the provision of a sufficient collection volume. A spill pallet must be able to hold the contents of the largest container (at least 10% of the stored quantity). If storage is permitted in water protection areas, it must be possible to retain the entire storage quantity (100%).
In our range, you will find the right spill pallet for every possible application: Use our online spill pallet guide to help you decide.
For particularly large or particularly small storage areas, we also offer
Different hazardous materials require different spill pallet requirements. The suitability of the various spill pallets therefore depends largely on which substance is to be stored on the pallet. In principle, the material of the spill pallet must be resistant to the substance to be stored. As a rule of thumb: If water-polluting substances or flammable liquids are stored, for example oils, paints or varnishes, a steel spill pallet must be selected. These are non-flammable and also comparatively inexpensive.
For aggressive chemicals such as acids and alkalis, choose stainless steel or plastic spill pallets instead. These are corrosion-free and therefore ideal for storing these substances. While steel spill pallets are formed from sheet metal, plastic spill pallets have the advantage that they can be moulded to any shape. For example, the latter can already have integrated upstands on which drums or IBC containers can be placed without having to use an additional grating.
We also have the small spill trays for small containers such as canisters, safety containers, storage containers and dosing containers!
Spill pallets are used not only for storage, but also for filling and transferring hazardous materials. Filling work on stored goods must be safe for both employees and the environment. Suitable spill pallets or suitable spillage decking can be used under the stored goods to effectively catch drips during filling. Almost all of our spill pallets can be extended to form a filling station for filling from drums. Only a few accessories are required for this, so no separate construction is necessary. You can find the right thread adapters in our online shop!
We offer accessories to match our spill pallets, which can be used to upgrade the spill pallets. A grid, for example, is already included with many spill pallet designs, but is also available separately. A grid is very practical: in the event of a leak, the leaking container is located directly above the tray. This means that any drips are safely collected instead of remaining on the outside of the container and dripping off as soon as the leaking container is lifted out of the tray.
It is also possible to convert a spill pallet into a filling station. You will find a large selection of accessories for this in our shop, such as threaded adapters, filling stands or filling platforms. You can find these in our shop as ready-made dispensing stations.
Spill pallets may only be installed in areas protected from rain . They may therefore be placed outdoors as long as they are stable and reliably covered. DENIOS also offers suitable hazardous materials depots that allow you to store your hazardous materials outdoors and protect them from unauthorised access . If you need more space, you can choose from our various hazardous materials storage systems . These are also equipped with spill pallets as standard. This ensures that hazardous materials and chemicals are safely collected and stored and that employees and the environment are protected.
As developers and manufacturers, we know this: The requirements of our customers vary greatly. It is not only the type and quantity of hazardous materials to be stored that are decisive for the selection of a spill pallet. Price, performance and equipment options also play a major role.
