High-quality hearing protection from DENIOS

Why hearing protection?

As soon as an employee is permanently exposed to noise that exceeds the lower exposure action level of 80 dB (peak sound pressure 135 dB), the employer must provide hearing protection. If the noise at the workplace exceeds the upper trigger values of 85 dB, the wearing of hearing protection is even mandatory. Tools and machines commonly used in production, such as welding torches or lathes, already develop such noise levels. What must personal hearing protection do? First and foremost, a hazard to hearing should be eliminated or reduced to a minimum.

We offer a wide selection of earplugs available to mitigate the effects of noise in the workplace. The SNR (dB) of the earplugs ranges from 22 dB to 37 dB, and all earplugs comply with EN 352. We offer individual earplug sets with cords to help mitigate against loss, individual earplug sets with head brackets and earplugs without cords in 200-pair bags. Our earplugs provide a high level of user comfort and are ideal for wearing with other personal safety equipment. They are manufactured from foam and provide both excellent protection from noise and first-rate sound absorption.

When should hearing protection be used?

We are already exposed to a variety of noise pollution in everyday life. In the workplace, even seemingly small sources cause noticeable stress. A noise level of 85 dB or more is considered a hazard. For all noises above 120 dB, the pain threshold is already reached.

  • 0-40 dB is generated by whispering or the ticking of a wristwatch.
  • 40-70 dB is generated by a conversation or even a table fan
  • 90-110 dB is caused by a circular saw, a hand grinder or an impact drill.
  • 120-130 dB a jet engine

What types of hearing protection exist?

Ear muffs and ear plugs have become the standard in everyday work. If the hearing protection has to be put on and taken off frequently, earmuffs are suitable. Earplugs offer a high level of comfort with maximum attenuation and are the preferred choice for continuous noise. However, there are employees who cannot wear earplugs because of material incompatibility or too narrow ear canals. In this case, earmuffs must also be used.

DENIOS UK offers a convenient ear protection dispenser to make earplugs readily available in the workplace. You can easily mount the dispenser on a wall, and its transparent design makes it easy to check the level and see when it needs refilling. The dispenser comes with a collection tray, and its one-hand operation makes it simple for your employees to dispense earplugs when needed. The dispenser comes filled with 400 pairs of Bilsom 303-L earplugs, which offer protection from noise. The earplug’s special bell shape ensures easy handling and a secure fit, and the SOFT PU foam provides maximum user comfort as it reduces the feeling of pressure in the ears. DENIOS UK offers a refill set of 200 pairs of earplugs for the dispenser. These earplugs comply with EN 352.
